IFPMA welcomes the launch of the Fight the Fakes Alliance, an association that represents different stakeholders with the common interest of tackling the issue of substandard and falsified medicines. As a strong supporter of Fight the Fakes since its inception in 2014, IFPMA is proud to be a founding member of this initiative and it is with great enthusiasm that we welcome all the other 14 partners that will join us in taking the initiative one step further, showing a shared commitment to reduce the harm caused by substandard and falsified medicines to patients and societies worldwide.

Substandard and falsified medicines represent a serious threat to patients all around the globe. For the research-based biopharmaceutical industry, safeguarding patient safety will always be at the core of what we do, and that’s why we strongly support initiatives like Fight the Fakes that foster collaboration, promote the implementation of initiatives that fight falsified medicines and call for action. Ensuring patients around the world receive quality care and thus quality medicines is a central piece in achieving universal health coverage.
