Our vision is that scientific progress translates into the next generation of medicines and vaccines that deliver a healthier future for people everywhere.

Mission

We champion pharmaceutical innovation and drive policy that supports the research, development, and delivery of health technologies. We do this as a trusted partner, bringing our members’ expertise to create sustainable solutions that advance global health.

IFPMA in brief

IFPMA and global health

IFPMA is based in Geneva, the global health capital of the world, where many organizations are engaged in the critical interface between public health, development, and innovation.

For more than 50 years, IFPMA has been a bridge between the innovative pharmaceutical industry and other stakeholders in the global health community.

While global in our focus, we also partner with key stakeholders to improve access and affordability in low- and middle-income countries, particularly those in Africa.

Sharing know-how

Together with our members from around the world, we share our industry’s know-how and contribute to achieving global targets on health.

We make sure that the benefits of innovation are appreciated and accessible, and that the conditions needed to enable research and development are well understood.

Through a portfolio of collaborative initiatives, we voice and exemplify our industry’s value to global health progress as well as showcase it as a thought leader and solutions partner.

An innovative industry

Pharmaceutical innovation – the core of our industry’s work – relies on pushing the limits of scientific knowledge to advance new therapies for the benefit of patients.

Our industry is one of the most innovative in the world. Almost three million employees discover, develop, and supply medicines and vaccines that transform the lives of people, communities, and nations worldwide.

Researchers work tirelessly to find novel ways to attack diseases and address emerging threats, exploring new scientific approaches while expanding knowledge and understanding of how to prevent and treat human diseases.
