The International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA) together with the Drug Information Association (DIA) will organize two new regulatory conferences in 2015 in Asia and Africa.

The Asian Regulatory Conference will take place in Chinese Taipei in February 2015 with the theme of “Advancement of Best Practices for Regulatory Review and Submission in Asia”. The African Regulatory Conference will take place in Senegal in April 2015 featuring as theme the “Move towards Regulatory Harmonization to enhance Access to Medicines in Africa”.

The IFPMA/DIA Asia and Africa Regulatory Conferences offer a unique opportunity to exchange experiences, reports, and progressive views on key regulatory topics, as well as identifying focus areas for ongoing and future efforts to increase patient access to innovative therapies.

The ARCs will bring together key regional and global stakeholders including representatives from health authorities, governments, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, academia, and local and multinational pharmaceutical companies.

Topics addressed will span from registration process optimization, appropriate use of common technical documentation, development of regional and global collaborative schemes, quality management, pharmacovigilance, biotherapeutics, counterfeit medicines, clinical trials, and adaptation of regulatory practices to new technologies.

Participants will benefit from a comprehensive set of practical information on regional and global issues at stake in the regulatory environment and will have the opportunity to engage in trainings, workshops and panel sessions that will enable in-depth discussions and knowledge sharing.

The conferences build on a long track record of collaboration between the IFPMA African Regulatory Network and regulatory authorities and the global health community around fostering greater harmonization of risk- and science-based regulatory requirements and systems particularly in Africa and Asia.
