Chatham House in collaboration with African Centre for Disease Control, Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) and International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA) hosted an in-person two days, invitation only, roundtable discussion under the Chatham House rule.
The event examined the lessons learnt so far, focusing on the following themes:
- Innovation
- Access
- Partnering
Two years into the pandemic, everyone who has been involved in the COVID-19 response is still learning everyday how to do more and better.
The world was woefully unprepared for this pandemic and, collectively, we have worked to outrun a virus that has so far proven faster than we have been. SARS-CoV-2 has evolved, persisted, and proved predictions wrong. There are many unanswered questions, and our mutual knowledge is changing and adapting along with the virus.
